Another Ryan Air sale: winter seats for £10

Well, Irish budget airline Ryan Air has been having sale after sale, after sale… they’re practically giving the tickets away (uh, in fact, that’s exactly what they were doing).

Why give tickets away? We don’t know, but suspect that their flagging popularity might just have something to do with it… A recent poll conducted by TripAdvisor.com indicates that, of all the airlines available, UK travellers regard Ryan Air as their least favourite (for the third year running).

But do backpackers really care about popularity? Probably not – cheap seats are cheap seats, after all, and money saved is money to be set aside for the buying and consuming of thirst-quenching beverages… not to mention a few more breakfasts.
So, for those of you planning for your winter travels, get on over to Ryan Air and grab some £10 seats before Sunday (19 October).

Liverpool Music Week 2008 is almost upon us!

Liverpool Music Week is the UK’s biggest indoor winter music festival, and it’s only a few weeks away!

This year’s event, which runs from the 30th October to the 6th of November has been streamlined into a mouth watering jam packed agenda of music, that includes some of the UK’s hottest and ground breaking acts including Goldfrapp, Vampire Weekend, Dizzee Rascal, Black Kids, Mystery Jets, Kissy Sell Out, The Presets, Martha Wainwright, The Fall, Ladyhawke and Magistrates.

Tickets are available online, or if you’re feeling hard-up, try your luck in their fabulous competition (they’re giving away a VIP trip with all the bells and whistles).

When in Amsterdam in late October… party it up at the world’s biggest club festival

Heading for Amsterdam later this month? If so, and if you’re a party animal, you’re going to want to check out what is the biggest club festival in the world: the Amsterdam Dance Event.

So what makes it the biggest? Well, the four-day event features over 700 DJ’s and acts performing in 40 of Amsterdam’s finest venues, DJ cafés, record stores, lounges and art galleries. Now in its thirtheenth year, the ADE has grown into a business conference that attracts 1900 key professionals and a club festival audience of 72 000 people.

72 THOUSAND people. BIG indeed.

So, if clubbing is your game, Amsterdam is most definitely your city for the days and especially the nights of the 22nd through to the 25th of October 2008.

Ryan Air ‘Free Flights’ Sale - Again

It defies logic, the idea of free flights, doesn’t it? It must cost an awful lot to fly a plane from place to place, so why on earth would anyone want to charge nothing at all for it?

Well, whatever the bizarre reasoning behind it, budget airline Ryan Air has gone one step further than £1 flights, and is now offering them for nothing at all…

Backpackers, of course, aren’t the sort to complain about such things (nor ponder upon them at any length) and will no doubt be snapping up fares to help them get around Europe much more cheaply.

The offer is on selected one-way flights to and from Europe between the 23rd of October and the 16th of December 2008. It even includes taxes and fares… Book until midnight tonight!

Keeping it green at Rocking the Daisies in South Africa

Rocking the Daisies is an eco-friendly music and lifestyle festival taking place in Darling, a small town in the be-flowered Cape West Coast area.
