Description
Flag Varna Hostel is the oldest Hostel in Bulgaria.
We are also the cheapest Hostel in the centre of Varna.
We also have a Private 1 Bedroom Apartment to rent on the Centre Square in Varna - 35 Euros per night (See photo gallery and availability)
The Flag Hostel was started by Australian Businessman Roy in 2004. Roy is a keen sailor and rumour has it that the original Flag building was swapped by Roy for his yacht. Roy has now retired from the hostel world and the last we heard, he was buying up large chunks of Berlin.
Flag is under new management and is now owned by an Englishman Dave.
The star of our hostel is our new kitten Chaika (which means Sea Gull in Bulgarian)

Chaika was born a litter of 4 but sadly her brothers and sister all got killed and eaten by the Sea Gulls.
After a fierce battle with the Gulls, we managed to save Chaika from their jaws and we have now adopted her into our hostel.
She loves to play with everyone in the hostel and is loved by everyone who comes here.
We hope one day, Chaika will get her revenge !
Flag is the only hostel on the pedestrianised street, in the very centre of Varna. You couldn't get nearer the action, and have a good night sleep!! We are still the same Flag Varna but in a far better location. The interior has been upgraded and a few beds removed recently, for more comfort.

New lockers, for peace of mind (Padlocks available).
New Wireless Internet - you may bring your own laptops !
Washing and drying facilities are available.
The main sq, fountain and Opera house are simply around the corner as are all the shops and restaurants .
Pictured are the Hostel, dorm rooms and our Aprtment room. We still have the same friendly atmosphere and staff, but now Varna is literally right on your doorstep.
With modern hot showers and bathrooms, kitchen facilities and everything you would expect from a Hostel. Flag Varna is the perfect place to stay in the heart of Varna.
