Description
Perched on the tip of the Siansowa peninsula, in the heart of Tonga Land, The Clubhouse Backpackers is a must for budget travellers who want to visit Lake Kariba, famous for its spectacular scenery and unique blend of wildlife and traditional culture.
All the rooms are built in the traditional style with 'pole & dagga', thatched roofs, mosquito proofed and surrounded by indigenous trees. The view is spectacular! We have camping, private rooms and dorms. Guests can enjoy an amazing bar and pool with stunning views, kitchen facilities and BBQ, home made meals and a laundry service.
We recommend that you take a guided tour of one of the worlds largest commercial Nile Crocodile farms (a real must in Africa!), take bush walks on near by Maaze and Mashapi Islands teeming with a variety of game and transfers by banana boat, catch Bream for dinner or take on the challenge of the notorious Tiger Fish! Enjoy the lake and the game from our cruise boat!
We offer traditional style Tonga dormitories, chalets. Guests can relax at the pool side or get stuck in a hammock overlooking the water enjoying an ice cold drink!
Due to our remote location (and no phones...!) for now we only accept cash payments (Zambia Kwacha/US$/Euros/ZAR).
