Description
This friendly, comfortable hostel is set in spacious grounds overlooking Whangarei Harbour and the town basin. Enjoy the warmth of a log fire in winter or relax in the BBQ area in summer.

Discover the amazing Abbey Caves just a short drive from our property - see thousands of glow worms, stalactites & stalagmites, underground waterfalls, and spectacular rock formations in three unique undeveloped caves.
Scuba Diving at the Poor Knights Islands Tutukaka named by Jacques Cousteau as one of the world's top 10 dive locations. Spectacular water clarity and warm sub-tropical currents provide a rich, varied and abundant sea life. Dive trips depart Tutukaka daily. Just let us know when you want to go diving and we will organize everything.

Explore the R H Reed Kauri Park just down the road and from here. The park features a canopy walkway giving a birds-eye view of the forest and includes two 500 year old Kauri trees. You can also take a scenic bush walk to the Whangarei Falls the most photogenic waterfall in New Zealand
Don't miss the picturesque bays and beaches of the Whangarei Harbour including the spectacular unspoiled beauty of Ocean Beach. Enjoy some of the finest beaches in the country - Matapouri, Whale Bay, Sandy Bay
YHA New Zealand is a non-profit membership organization. Non-members pay an additional NZ$3 per person per night fee upon check-in. Memberships can be purchased at the hostel.
