Creamfields UK 2007

Creamfields is one of the UK’s premier summer dance festivals, and you and a friend could be going this year, for free!

Boasting a stellar line-up featuring the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada, Kelis and Mark Ronson, the Cheshire-based dance festival is so popular that they’ve even had to increase their capacity this year.

A whopping 49,999 people (5,000 more than last year) will be streaming through the gates on Saturday the 25th of August (Bank Holiday Weekend) to enjoy a night of some of the best dance music to be had on the planet.

Creamfields 2007 also sees the first appearance of the MySpace Summer Daze Bus at the site. Making its debut on the festival circuit, the Routemaster will host surprise performances from top-name acts as it calls in at this years top festivals, and its progress can be tracked online at www.myspace.com/liveintheuk.

The bus will provide welcome respite for drained dancers with its sofa and giant double bed, meanwhile those with a more creative streak will be able to graffiti it.

June Travel Quiz: Travel Around Europe For Free With Busabout Explorer

June 25th, 2007 by Pia Taylor

Busabout Explorer

It’s travel quiz time, and boy have we got a cool prize for all you rambling backpackers out there… free transport around Europe on the Busabout Explorer, Europe’s favourite hop-on hop-off backpacker bus service

Yup, that’s FREE transport!

This month, we’re giving away the Busabout Explorer 3-loop pass valued at $1,319.00.

Busabout in a nutshell: start from any city on the loop and travel at your own pace – stay as long as you like at each stop, then when you’ve finished exploring, jump on the next bus and move on to the next destination.

All Busabout passes are valid for the entire 2007 operating season (May to October) – departures from each city are every other day. And here’s what makes them so very special:

  • you can start and finish anywhere on the network
  • take your time and travel at your own pace.
  • take a 2 week trip in May, one in July and another in September – there are no time limits
  • hop on at the hostel door – hop off at the hostel door
  • every two days you will see their buses rolling though

Busabout 3 Loop Route

The 3-loop pass includes the Northern Loop (Germany, the Netherlands, Prague and more) Southern Loop (Italy and Switzerland) and the Western Loop (best of France and Spain).

You can combine any 2 or 3 loops to design your ideal trip. You can stop at every destination once. You can even break a loop up and make 2 or more separate holidays. Simply fly back and start right where you began.

Not only is a great way to get around, it’s also a brilliant way to meet other backpackers and make a bunch of new friends on the road.

So, if all that sounds good to you, it’s time to answer a few travel-related questions (based on what’s been happening on the blog over the past month) and go into the draw.

Here goes:

  1. Which South African acoustic music festival, which made its debut in 2006, will be held in the Giant’s Castle Nature Reserve in September this year? (need a clue?)
  2. Which eclectic Scottish festival promises to provide a ‘heady brew of wickery shenanigans’ (here’s a clue)
  3. What fairytale-like castle did we feature recently in our travel photo of the week?
  4. Name two cities on Busabout Explorer’s Northern Loop

Easy! Now, go ahead and use our contact form to send us your answers and contact details before 18 July 2007.

A backpackers giveaway!

Good luck, guys!

The fine print: Competition closes 18 July 2007. Prize cannot be exchanged for cash. Prize is for 3-loop pass only valid for 2007 operating season, and does not include transport to and from points outside the Busabout network. Winner will be notified by email. If the winner cannot be contacted within 30 days of the prize draw, another winner will be selected.
