Splashy Fen 2008: And The Winners Are…

Earlier this month we held a competition for two sets of double tickets to South Africa’s ‘ultimate outdoor experience’, Splashy Fen 2008. And, the first entries drawn (with correct answers) were those of Tamlin Wightman and Mathias Gustavsson – well done, guys!

This year’s festival takes place over Easter weekend (20-24 March 2008) on a farm near Underberg in the Southern Drakensberg (Kwa-Zulu Natal) and will once again offer a line-up of over 70 of the country’s hottest artists.

Calling all Splashy fans… We’re giving away two double tickets for Splashy Fen 2008 – and you’ve got until Wednesday the 20th of February to enter!

Each year South Africa’s longest-running music festival attracts thousands of fun-loving folks to a farm near Underberg in the Southern Drakensberg (Kwa-Zulu Natal) for what has become the ‘ultimate outdoor experience’.

This year’s festival runs over the Easter weekend from March 20 to 24 and will once again offer a line-up of over 70 of the country’s hottest artists, including the likes of blues maestro, Dan Patlansky; Cape Town ska outfit, The Rudimentals; acclaimed acoustic guitarist, Guy Buttery; and the internationally successful folk singer/songwriter, Miriam Backhouse.

Other attractions include a range of fun activities for the whole family, as well as arts and crafts, an abundance of different food and drink outlets, much-improved camping facilities and a tent hotel.

Individual tickets would normally cost you between ZAR 300 and ZAR 400 (±30 – 40 Euro) but if you enter our Splashy Fen 2008 Giveaway, you might just win two tickets of your very own (worth 80 Euro!).

All you need to do to enter is answer the following questions correctly:

2. Name two of the sponsors of the 2008 event. (hint)

Get 10,000 Feet High In Our January Travel Quiz: Win A Trip To The Top Of A Glacier!

One of the best ways to embrace the fact that it’s darned cold up north right now, is to head for the snow, and enjoy it, rather than sludging about in it!

And this January we have a little something for one of you intrepid backpackers out there… Courtesy of ISE Cards and Titlis Rotair we’re giving away an awesome (northern hemisphere) winter prize: two money-saving ISE student discount cards (one for you, one for a friend) and two return tickets to the top of a 10,000 foot high glacier!

Mt Titlis, the glacier in question, is Central Switzerland’s only glacier and the views from its summit are extraordinary (we know – we took a ride on the revolving cable car last year, and it was amazing!).

The tickets include a ride on 3 different cable-cars, including the first revolving aerial cable-car in the world, called Rotair. It also includes a ride on the glacier chairlift “Ice-Flyer” to the Glacier Park where in good weather free rides with different snow toys are offered to everybody.

The prize is valid for a year from the date of draw, and, well, it’s always cold at 10,000 feet, so even if you can’t make it in the winter season, you’ve got a whole 365 days to get yourself up there!
