Virgin Blue’s 8th birthday sale: discounts on Australian domestic and international flights
Australian budget carrier Virgin Blue is celebrating its eighth birthday with the kind of low cost fares of which cash-strapped backpackers are so fond.
Seats on domestic routes are selling for as little as $45 AU!
If you’re planning on checking luggage, though, be prepared to pay extra. This fare applies only to hand-held baggage, otherwise charges apply: pre-pay $8 online for up to 23kg of checked baggage per person per one way flight, or pay $20 at the airport for the same allowance.
The sale is on until midnight on Tuesday 9th September 2008 and is valid for two travel periods:
- Travel Period 1: 15th October 2008 to 16th December 2008
- Travel Period 2: 13th January 2009 to 7th April 2009
Oh, and if you’re using a credit card, you’ll pay for that pleasure, too: “a credit card surcharge of $3 per person per one way flight is applicable for flights within Australia.”
There’s already limited availability on certain routes, so if you’re looking to book, best you book soon.
