Travel Photo Of The Week: What’s The Big Idea?

April 1st, 2008 by The Backpackers Team

What’s the big ideaSometimes, when you’re on the road, travelling from place to place – a perfect ‘moment’ appears, begging to be captured… and sometimes, just sometimes, you’re lucky enough to have a camera at hand right then and there.

This week’s featured travel photo is of one of those moments: a pair of Indian schoolgirls standing in front of a sign saying ‘Idea™’. If it weren’t for the intruding satchel on the right hand side of the image, it would seem too good to be true (ie that the photographer had set it up on purpose).

The title is perfect: ‘What’s the big idea?’, the colour of the girls’ dresses links them beautifully to the sign behind them, and the expression of the girl in the centre of the photo seems to echo the word behind her. A fantastic capture!

This photo was taken by ‘Hongkiu‘, a contributor to the backpackers travel photo pool. See more of her beautiful travel shots here.
