Reel And Jig At Edinburgh’s Hogmanay ‘08
The full programme for this year’s Edinburgh Hogmanay celebrations won’t be out until next week (Wednesday 21 November) but from what we’ve seen already it certainly is shaping into quite the New Year’s Eve party!
Organisers have put together 4 days of events and activities, providing ‘something for everyone’. And for those of you itching to ‘reel or jig’ your days and nights away (that’s dancing, Scots-style, in case you were wondering), there are three ways to do so:
Dance with the crowds at East Princes Street Gardens:
Down in East Princes Street Gardens, funky ceilidh bands will rock the floor and serious dancing will be done. Up on the Mound Square stage, more fantastic musicians will play as well as the bars selling a selection of food and drinks.
10pm – 1am, Monday 31 December 2007 (£35.00 plus booking fee, incl Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party pass)
Party in style at The Hoog:
Offering Ceilidhs and discos across 3 stages, The Hoog is the new approach to partying in the Assembly Rooms, George Street for Hogmanay.
You’ll get to hear the very best contemporary and traditional Scottish bands playing infectious, exciting reels and jigs, as well as great bars, a choice of great food and chill-out areas when the dancing all gets a little too much. A great ticket for the indoor Hogmanay party in Edinburgh.
7.30pm – 2am, Monday 31 December 2007 (tickets £47.50 plus booking fee)
Really party in style at Hoog Royale:
Hoog Royale has been created in a smaller, more exclusive venue (Queens Hall on Clerk Street) which is a little bit away from the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party area, meaning it is easy to get to and a little more relaxed away from the 100,000 street party revellers.
Hoog Royale will have a touch of ceilidh, a sprinkling of Jazz and a DJ to keep the party people going from 7.30pm right through to 2am on 1st January.
7.30pm – 2am, Monday 31 December 2007 (tickets £57.50 plus booking fee)Posted in Destinations, Festivals
