Backpackers Bookmarks: GeoBeats Travel Videos

The guys over at Geobeats recently alerted us to their fantastic website featuring short guided travel videos, and we’ve become junkies!

Geobeats focuses on creating professionally made down-to-earth travel guides, presented by locals:

We have created a website where anyone can watch free short videos on international destinations that highlight history, culture, shopping, food, nightlife, lifestyle, and other aspects of interest to travelers.

First-time backpackers might find their guides to public transport particularly useful (check out the Amsterdam, Barcelona guides and Tokyo).

Other very useful videos include ones that demonstrate the top local phrases useful for getting around cities like Amsterdam, Paris and Barcelona, as well as quick lessons in etiquette for cities such as Barcelona, Berlin and, further afield, Tokyo.

And that’s just a start! They also have a bunch of short clips featuring places of interest such as London’s Portobello Market, Jaipur’s Gem Palace, New Delhi’s Toilet Museum (!!) and the Jail Hotel in Lucerne, Switzerland.

All of the guides are short and sweet and very well put together. They are also informative and, we think, a great resource for backpackers and other travellers wanting some insight into places they are planning to visit.
