Europe’s Low Cost Airlines: Put To The Test

This winter Matt Gross of the New York Times went on a whirlwind week-long 7-city tour of Europe, using only low-cost airlines to travel between countries.
This winter, I set out to test the network. The plan: seven flights in seven days, mixing established and off-the-beaten-path destinations, staying in modest hotels and never taking the same airline twice. Along the way, I would even try to enjoy myself wherever I landed. (link)
In just seven days he travelled from Geneva, to Prague, to Copenhagen, to London, on to Fez (Morocco), Paris, Budapest and back to Geneva. Phew!
It’s worth reading the full article for an insight into the ups and downs of using budget airlines and for an idea of what it might cost you (he lists the prices he paid for each flight).
Or – if you’ve had similar experiences your own – perhaps just for a commiserating chuckle.
