Roskilde Festival 2007: It’s Not Just About The Music
The Roskilde Festival is coming: 73 days, 18 hours, 28 minutes and counting…
Whilst rock music fans eagerly await the announcement of the 2007 music lineup (due out tomorrow), Roskilde certainly isn’t only about music.
Festival organisers have recently presented the programme for a part of the festival that’s perhaps less well-known to most backpackers: Spoken Word.
Spoken Word is poetry, provocation, storytelling and discussion. It is music put into words and words transformed into music. Spoken Word is an illustration of the values and content that Højskolerne – the Danish Folk High Schools – represent: creativity, absorption and communication expressed through words. (via)
Latest additions to the Spoken Word lineup include Claus Beck-Nielsen Memorial, Maja Lee Langvad, Kristina Nya Glaffey, MC Jabber (the male singer in Blue Foundation), Rolf Steensig, Sternberg and Pablo Llambías.
