Wies’nCamp: Oktoberfest Accommodation For Backpackers And Low-Budget Tourists

Here’s a great way to save on your accommodation costs at Oktoberfest this year: rent a tent at Wies’n Camp.
Between 8 September and 4 October the folks at Wies’n Camp will be setting up tents at the Olympic Horse Stadium München-Riem (just 10 minutes from Oktoberfest and the heart of the city with Metro), and renting them out to backpackers and other shoestring travellers.
Each tent can sleep up to 4 persons, and can be rented per night for 45 € (Sunday to Thursday) and 55 € (Friday to Saturday).

A deposit of 50 € per tent is required, which you get back at departure, providing the tent is not damaged. The fee includes restrooms and hot showers.
Wies’nCamp also offers optional extras like luxury isolation-mats (5 € per mat per night with a deposit of 50 €), breakfast, food and beverages, and all camping facilities like security and parking ground (8€ per night).
You’ll need to book in advance here and remember to bring a sleeping bag and your passport.
Oktoberfest 2006 runs from the 16th of September until the 3rd of October.
