Il Tomatina: The ‘Human Gazpacho’
August 30th, 2006 by Pia Taylor

Today around 40,000 tomato-hurling enthusiasts converged upon the small Spanish town of Bunyol, near Valencia, to be part of that king of foodfights: Il Tomatina.
Dubbed the ‘human gazpacho’ in this article, the festival appears to have been as messy as always – 100,000 kilograms of squishy overripe tomatoes hurled at anything that moves will generally have that effect.
See the tomato-carnage for yourself in these cool photos on the China Daily website.

That looks crazy! I gotta go one day. Must be quite a cleanup afterwards…
Nasty.

Ah man, that looks like the healthies fun ever. All them antioxidants flying around. Sheesh, I wonder if they sell many Bloody Mary cocktails there. I’m sure people just drink the vodka neat and then just wait for someone to throw a tomato and a piece of celery at them.
If I could take just one thing to il tomatina it would be my pepper grinder.
