Burning Man: Travel Notes for Newbies

August 17th, 2006 by Pia Taylor

Don't Burn Yourself at Burning Man

The Burning Man Festival (more here) is not one of those walk-in-cos-it-seems-kinda-cool festivals. It requires a lot of planning, and survival depends on at the very least having enough water to make it through each day (it’s in the middle of a scorching dusty desert, miles from anywhere with a tap).

With this in mind, this festival-regular compiled a list of travel notes for first-timers. The list is broken into four sections covering all aspects of the festival, including tips for handling the dust, the vital importance of having lip balm and how to deal with life after the festival.

Also check out the official Burning Man festival survival guide.
