Wickerman Festival 2006

Feel the heat! That’s the message to all music fans from Scotland’s fastest growing live music event, The Wickerman Festival.

On July 21 and 22 clans of people from all corners of the kingdom converge in deepest Galloway, South-West Scotland, for cult, craic, contemporary sounds and some chords from the past.

Acts lined up on Friday to take centre stage at this year’s Festival include Marky Ramone, New Model Army, The Blockheads, Eddie & The Hot Rods and Wilko Johnson. With Saturday’s main stage bursting with big sounds from The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, The Animals, Pama International, Kid Ego and Steve Hillage & System 7.

Midnight on Saturday also witnesses a spectacular sacrifice with the burning of a 30ft wicker man – symbolic to the 70’s cult movie, which will be introduced by none other than the “God of Hellfire himself Arthur Brown.
