LadyBoy On A Plane: The World’s First Transgender Air Hostess

For those of you in the dark, a ‘ladyboy’ is a ‘male-to-female transgender person in Thailand’, sometimes referred to as the ‘third sex’ (Wikipedia).
A few years back, on Patong Beach, Phuket, I remember several flyers advertising ‘ladyboy shows’ down the road… Never did check them out, but I have to admit that I was curious.
And thus it was that this article on Thai-Blogs caught my ever-roving eye.
Turns out the world now has its first ever ‘ladyboy airhostess’, in the form of 24-year-old Kiranant (Nicky):
‘Wanting to be herself – Nicky, after 3 years of experience at Oriental Airlines, threw away her trousers and tie for a short sexy skirt and blouse and applied for a job at PB Air as an air-hostess.’
Apparently, even though it’s ‘completely against company regulations’, Nicky was offered first a temporary and then a permanent cabin crew position aboard domestic Thai airline, PB Air.
So, next time you board a PB Air flight, look out for the dazzling Miss Kiranant, Ladyboy-on-a-plane.
