Scandinavia’s Underground Music Fest: Iceland Airwaves ‘06
Iceland Airwaves is a popular music festival held every October in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city.
Held this year between the 18^th^ and 22^nd^ of October, the uber-hip music festival will be hosted in seven main venues (clubs, bars and the Reykjavik Art Gallery) in Reykjavik’s city center.
Over 180 artists will be performing during Iceland Airwaves, among them the likes of ‘Kaiser Chiefs’ (UK), ‘The Go! Team’ (UK) and ‘We are Scientists’ (US).
One of the major highlights of Airwaves is the festival’s official ‘hangover party’, the Blue Lagoon Party, held on the Saturday (October 21^st^) at the unbelievably picturesque Blue Lagoon (a great big hangover-curing natural geothermal spa not far from the city). Wow.
Tickets for the festival go for around 97 US$ (7$ handling fee) and Blue Lagoon tickets (including transport and entrance to the lagoon) will cost you around 55 US$.
